Architectural Photography Knoxville
Last month we photographed several new businesses located in Knoxville’s Old City at the site of the former Crown and Goose for Design Innovation Architects. Starting from the left, Kaizen is an Asian themed restaurant/bar, Honeymouth creates leather goods, and Hen+Hoc is a deli and butcher shop.
There were not enough options at each location to warrant a full day shoot, so when scouting the locations we worked with the business owners to coordinate a day/time when we could photograph the entire project in a day, while not interfering with their business day. On the day of the shoot, the sky clouded up (which was great for the interiors) and we didn’t see the sun for the following eight days. That meant there was a return trip for the exteriors but that was not a big deal.

The hit of the entire shoot was Dozer, who is the Canine In Charge at Honeymouth. He even has a plaque commemorating his award for Employee of the Month. Nice as he is, it did take several takes to get him posed properly for his appearance in one of the images. Speaking of dogs, be sure and take a close look at the exterior image of Honeymouth…I was unaware that I was under close surveillance (upper right window).
For my fellow photography geeks, all images were shot with the Canon R5 with a 24mm tilt shift on the interiors and 24-105 on the exteriors (I was lucky enough to get to jockey for position a lot with the plumbers and road construction crew).
