NASCAR has done an amazing job dealing with the Covid situation. From the simple face that they were the first “Big Time” sport to start back to how well they are doing with everything from fans to media coverage, they have certainly done an awesome job.
Of course, not everything is “normal”. At Bristol, I was restricted to being outside the fence with no access to the “infield” area, rooftop, media room, or victory lane. But hey, they had a race, fans were there, and I got to photograph it…It’s Bristol Baby!
For my photographer friends, this was the first assignment I completed using mirrorless cameras only, and was my second time using the R6 (first time was the previous night). I had a Canon EOS R (graciously on loan from Canon) and a brand spanking new Canon EOS R6. The R6 is nothing short of amazing, I’ll be doing a blog post on it alone in the near future. Primary lens used was a Sigma 120-300 Sports version.
