Back in March we were contacted by the Birthplace of Country Music Museum located in Bristol, VA to come up and create some “proper” architectural images of this incredible museum. I spend quite a bit of time as a photographer in the Tri-Cities area and while I was aware of the museum, I really had no idea how awesome and special this place is!
Super assistant Tori and I went up for a scouting session a week or two before the shoot. I wanted to see the view down a hallway with both doors open, here’s Tori’s solution to keeping both the doors open (I still haven’t had the nerve to tell her that there were latches to keep the doors open). 🙂

It was a fairly intensive two day shot list, and we also had aerial/morning/dusk exteriors. As is normal for larger jobs, photographer and retoucher extraordinaire Jonathan Dean came along while we also had friend, photographer, and all around great guy Earl Neikirk to assist. Kim Davis from the museum was nothing but a pleasure to work with and I truly hope our paths cross again!

I highly recommend visiting the museum, it’s simply a fantastic experience. And while you’re there, the Bristol Hotel is located adjacent to the museum and it is easily one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in.
